Metal bed is fine .. does not creak ... light .. the issue with the slats that some say here ... first ... you do not get the slats that follow it ... I told the merchant not to his slats and he told me the dimensions of the slats in the bed 162cm ... just to prevent his slats from slipping and falling (for those who jump probably) with a screwdriver you screw it to the frame and so it is more stable ... of course the slats slip on the bed because the bed is painted metal, the slats are natural wood ... a very simple bed that of course transforms depending on the mattress you choose ... screw the slats mandatory .... so the construction becomes very stable ... look at IKEA where almost most of their beds are screwed or with clips their slats ... enough weight on the bed my wife and I together do not creak ... something else ...... because the opening is large 160cm and generally for those who want cheap queen beds the only thing you will need in the middle of the bed is to put a vertical plywood under the slats to avoid the belly that the mattress will make over time due to weight ...
Very good price and quite stable. Although the welds are not the best and in areas where some screws are not holding, something is needed to prevent the bed from creaking. However, it is not a serious problem that cannot be easily solved. However, it arrived damaged in the paint and was missing a screw
What I have to emphasize is that as a bed it is relatively good, of course now comes the following issue. The slats where the boards rest are small, resulting in them constantly falling relatively easily. I had to buy commercial slats three times until I made my own measurements for the bed so that they fit tightly and don't fall. Generally, I would not recommend it. It may be cheap, but you pay for it elsewhere.
Another buyer mentions his positive experience with the bed 8214 - Phoebus in his review, but evaluates the bed Smile. The two beds look similar, but they are not the same. The bed 8214 - Phoebus has a Headboard of 100 centimeters (fits a 26-inch mattress without losing the bed), a Footboard for the slats of 3 centimeters (the slats do not fall off), screws with a 13-key, and a smaller curvature in the upper part of the design, while at the end of the headboard below it is straight (this is not visible). The Smile bed has a Headboard of 90 centimeters, a Footboard for the slats of 2 centimeters, screws with an 11-key, with a greater curvature in the upper part of the design and the same curvature at the end of the headboard below, facing upward.
After the Swedish wooden type I had since childhood, which creaked all the time, this one here looks like a tank :) . I bought it half a year ago. I used the planks and the mattress I already had and I got it delivered, for less than 60€ in total! If I'm not mistaken, it is also Greek-made and back then it had the name Phoebus. The only downside compared to the wooden one is that the slats (the sides) are screwed to the edges with a total of 8 screws, unlike the "drawer-like" metal connectors that the old one had. So it takes more time to dismantle/assemble it and tools (e.g. pairs of German wrenches) are needed. But this system was also a major source of squeaks for the old one. Very good purchase. In the following picture, the drawers underneath I bought separately recently and they have a height of 22cm. They belong to the category of "Children's - Baby/Children's Furniture/Children's Bed Accessories" scrubs.
I am very disappointed when someone chooses, to the best of their abilities, to support Greek production instead of ready-made Chinese products and receives, after a month of waiting, a hastily made product full of defects and inaccuracies already from the factory, because they were probably in a hurry to leave for the summer. At least with foreign products, you get what you pay for. Such a shame.
Definitely value for money! But apart from the fact that it is one of the cheapest beds (€40), if you are looking for a minimal metal bed, it is worth considering this one, anyway.
It is easily transported and assembled, sturdy construction, and it has not creaked for the 5 years that I have had it.
*EDIT: Now 8 years, and I still have only good things to say.
