Excellent in its measurements, very fast - almost 7 seconds - you have the ability to choose between three age groups, 0 to 3 months, 3 to 36 months, and 36 months and above. Depending on the measurement result, the screen is colored green, yellow, or red. I chose it based on existing reviews and after complete disappointment with a much more expensive one that was completely inaccurate. So far, I am completely justified!
Good construction for gaming.
There is no lighting on the screen, making it impossible to use at night, and it is very annoying that you have to select an age group for each use.
The use for adults gives random indications. It is not worth the money
The measurements in general are correct, it is easy to use and very fast. The button to select the age group broke after about 2 years and I bought a new one.
One of my best purchases as a new mom! Fast, easy to use, and accurate in measurements (I tested it with a mercury thermometer to be sure during a fever phase). It's worth it!
After two years of frequent use, I have two things to say. The measurements are approximately accurate, but in no way are they 100% correct like a mercury thermometer. Additionally, it broke after two years.
Very bad thermometer. From the very first use, it had different readings from 36.5 to 37.8 and they were all wrong since the child had 38.3. Also, regarding the lighting, while I had read reviews and considered it a negligible problem, it is actually a big issue as you can't even press the button for age with light. Very disappointed with the company.
I bought it because reading the reviews I thought it was great. The child was burning with fever. I put it on and it showed 37.4, I put another one I had... 38.9. I said "it can't be. I didn't put it correctly". Without further ado, I tried it 3 times. And all 3 times it showed below 37.5. It's not the batteries' fault. It's not due to any mishandling from the beginning, as it showed a significant deviation from the temperature the children had when I bought it.
Also, the screen that illuminates well, from the beginning when it opens until the end. If I have to turn on the light at night to see the temperature and wake up the children, it doesn't make sense.
Even if it was free, I do not recommend it
Unfortunately, I didn't pay attention to the reviews, I didn't imagine how bad an expensive Braun thermometer can be. The worst thing I have ever seen, in 10 measurements you can have 10 different results and sometimes with significant deviations. Deviations at the level of having a fever of 38 and showing a normal reading. Highly prohibitive for infants, where it is supposed to be intended
There is an accuracy issue. And the problem has to do with the speed of measurement.
For some inexplicable reason, Braun wanted to make it incredibly fast, which unfortunately has the downside that many times it will show you an incorrect (lower) temperature.
If you repeat the measurement 2 - 3 times, the 2nd or 3rd time you will get the correct measurement, but for me, this is a problem.
In the end, I got another one from Citizen that can measure in 1 minute, but you can be sure that the measurement is accurate.
This one here often takes a measurement in 4-5 seconds
It broke in one and a half years and after minimal use. The measurements are consistent only from 37.5 degrees Celsius and above. Below this temperature, every time you take a measurement, you will get a different result with a large deviation.
The thermometer is great and in repeated measurements it does not show significant deviations. The flexible tip and the large screen are convenient... overall it seems like a quality device.
The only lack that I also notice is that, although it has a backlight for the unnecessary function of selecting age group (just to indicate whether the measurement indicates high fever or not), this backlight is deactivated when showing the temperature!
It may sound like a detail but it is a huge flaw since the backlight already exists in the device.
Apart from that, the job is done correctly and the product is considered honest for its price.
Before taking a measurement, hold the metal part in your hand for a few seconds to get an accurate reading. This is to bring it to the correct temperature faster.
The 3 age options it has are to display the corresponding color and do not affect the measurement. So, in whichever option you choose, it will show the same temperature, regardless of whether it is a baby or an adult. A few seconds after the measurement, the screen will light up so that you can see the temperature even in the dark
The device has all sorts of measurements. One 37.4, one 38.1, one 36.4... all over the place. Also, sometimes the measurement is completed in seconds, but most of the time it takes 20 or 30 seconds and even then the measurement doesn't successfully complete in the end. Before buying it, I had read almost all the reviews and I was deceived. I do not recommend it because it does not have reliable measurements at all and most of the time it takes a long time to measure. It's really a waste of money. I have no reason to lie to you. Stay away..
ACCURACY. It is perhaps the most important but difficult to evaluate immediately. The sure thing is that the repeatability of the measurements is not particularly good.
Example of 4 measurements: 36.3 - 36.6 - 36.4 - 36.5. That is a deviation of 0.3 degrees in the measurements for the same condition. It is not something that happened once, it is the standard even for higher temperatures. What do we do? We take multiple measurements and take the average.
FUNCTIONALITY. Funny. The screen lights up momentarily to see the previous measurement and then the backlight goes off. In low light/darkness, you can't see anything.
The option for infants, bigger babies, etc., is also comical and completely unnecessary. It's like the person measuring the temperature on a baby doesn't know what the normal limits are. The green and red lights should also turn on. Indeed.
SPEED. Excellent. The device's biggest advantage and the only reason I continue to use it. In less than 10 seconds, you have a measurement. In 1 minute, you can do 5-6 measurements and understand what's going on. I wish it was more accurate and reliable in the measurements, then it would be perfect.
The measurements are all over the place.... no reliability... and even if you take the temperature 10 times, it will give you 15 different results... it's not worth it and it's also expensive
It never takes 8 seconds as it claims, it takes longer. As for the measurements and accuracy, if you take 3-4 consecutive measurements, it almost always gives a different result. The color (green, red) helps a lot to immediately understand if the baby has a fever or not.
You can do 6 different measurements per minute and each one will give a different result... in the end, you have to guess which one is the correct temperature among all the ones it showed. Defective... Waste of money...
The worst. Ten times I measured the baby, and it gave ten different readings. And of course, it's not convenient at night because it doesn't have a light when you select the age group. It's a waste
In the first few days, it worked perfectly, always providing accurate measurements. After 7 months, it started showing only 36.2 to 36.8. My child had a fever of 38.7 and it showed 36.7.
This particular product has the most reliable body temperature measurement out of all the thermometers I have used (underarm, forehead, or ear).
Its positive points are:
a. The quality of construction.
b. The speed of measurement.
c. The screen illumination, but only after the completion of the measurement.
d. The ability to set the age range of the person being measured into three categories (0-6 months, 6-36 months, over 36 months), particularly useful for those with babies and infants.
Its negative points are:
a. The high cost of purchasing compared to similar products.
b. The mandatory setting of the age of the person being measured before each measurement, without the ability to save the selection for future measurements, in combination with the lack of screen illumination during this process.
Sometimes it shows correctly.. sometimes it shows random values... It showed my baby's temperature as 37.5 .. I called the pediatrician in the middle of the night and luckily my wife told me to use a mercury thermometer and measure again... and finally, my child had a temperature of 36.6! Tragic!
Very fast..
Measurements with deviation like all electronic thermometers unfortunately...
It does not have illumination to choose solar group so it is difficult to use it at night.... For me, the noise that notifies you that it has measurement is also very strong... it woke up the baby at night...
Although I had high expectations due to the good reviews, I cannot say that I was satisfied. Firstly, without screen illumination, you are required to select the age group before using the thermometer each time. Here I have a question, since the thermometer generally has screen illumination, how difficult was it for them to include it in all its functions? Secondly, it lacks accuracy between measurements, it showed 37.1 and then after half a minute 36.8. Thirdly, the noise it makes when the measurement is finished is so loud and piercing that if someone is sleeping next to you, it is most likely to wake them up. It is indeed extremely fast and compared to some other electronics I have tried, it is somewhat better, but I have definitely tried a better one which is not fast and is also older but has excellent accuracy in measurements.
Digital thermometers are a painful story, but this one is very good.
Its deviations range from very small to negligible.
It measures the fastest thing without bothering the child.
The option to select the age group could be completely missing as it essentially offers nothing (it does not change anything in the temperature measurement itself).
It would also be perfect if it had a backlight on the screen.
Overall, yes, it is worth its money.
It's simply garbage... Your child is burning with fever and you struggle in the dark to find the age group every time. It doesn't even have lighting to make it easier. Also, you can't disable the sound. As a result, the baby has a fever and the thermometer beeps in his ear at night. It's for the trash. Tomorrow morning I'm going to get another one and I hope it's better.
A tragic thermometer. One moment it shows 36.7, but when I change it to underarm, it shows 38.4. A waste of money. I must say, the thermometer works mainly as an oral thermometer. The truth is, it shows correctly in the mouth. I insist that it is tragic for underarm use.
