Description

Aristocratically raised, excellently educated, only child of a minister, renewer of tradition, openly homosexual, companion of communists, drug addict, suicide, Lapathiotis has been much loved as a poet but his prose literary work, although not at all negligible, has remained in the shadows, scattered in rare old magazines and newspapers.

In this volume of Lapathiotis' short stories, the third in the series, Nikos Sarantakos presents 38 stories written from 1930 until the end of the author's life, completing the publication of his found short stories. He also provides an extensive timeline of the poet, based on personal research, with elements that have not been published so far, adding another piece to the study of the life and multifaceted work of the suicide of Kountouriotou Street.

Almost all the short stories in this volume were published in the popular magazine "Bouquet", a magazine of varied but also select content, read by everyone from seamstresses to academics. In "Bouquet", the aesthete of twilight met with the large audience, and narrated with his poetic, rhythmic prose stories of unrequited love and the ever-present death.
