Description

Boston, end of World War I.
A time of political and social upheaval. The USA at the crossroads of past and future.
Two people, one white and one black, are swept up in the whirlwind of History. The first, police officer Danny Coughlin, despite being organized in the police union, is forced to take part in the hunt for dangerous radicals. The second, Luther Lawrence, murders a crime boss in Tulsa and flees to Boston, where he finds work with the Coughlin family. At the same time, he desperately tries to find a way to return to his pregnant wife.
Through the journey of these two heroes, the critical events that marked America of the Interwar period unfold: the growth of the labor movement, the clash between workers and capital, the struggle for the civil rights of African Americans. The plot culminates during the Boston police strike of 1919, when the legendary Babe Ruth dominates the baseball fields.
Conservatives and revolutionaries, aristocrats and commoners, locals and immigrants, corrupt politicians and law representatives in the daily toil for survival and the struggle for power.

An exciting political-social crime novel that explores the relentless violence and uncontrolled enthusiasm of a country in constant war with itself.
