an ascetic, a teacher in Corinth, a creative bishop, a revolutionary against the Turks,
a student and practitioner of theoretical and practical baptismal texts, the compiler of the Philokalia, the Founder of the entire Philokalic movement, a writer, theorist, and publisher of Philokalic-theological works, a healer of new martyrs, a collector and writer of new martyrdoms, and
a great ascetic with theophanic experiences and the gift of theosis.
