Six days ago, he was one of the first to walk on Mars. Now it seems he will be the first person to die there.
Astronaut Mark Watney wakes up injured and alone, in the midst of a sandstorm. The other members of the third space mission to Mars considered him dead and abandoned him, according to NASA protocol. His chances of survival now are nonexistent.
But Mark does not give up. Combining ingenuity with scientific knowledge, he leaves us speechless with the capabilities of our species to survive.
Will he be able to overcome the insurmountable difficulties that present themselves at every moment?
Written with humor and self-deprecation that wins you over, this exciting book reached the top positions on the Sunday Times and Amazon lists, winning devoted readers among space, science, and adventure enthusiasts.
The movie "The Martian" is based on the book, directed by the great director Ridley Scott. Starring Matt Damon (in the role of Mark Watney).

I read it before the movie came out! The book is excellent, it keeps you hooked from the first page, and it doesn't have any dull moments!
Very interesting book, with good translation and easy to read. I got it for my son (10 years old) who had seen the movie and wanted to read the book as well, and he finished it in a few days - then I read it on our vacation.
In some parts, the language is not suitable for such ages, but overall it is very interesting, especially for those (like us) who have a tendency towards space.
Pleasant, without any "hollow" moments and keeps you engaged until the end
