Description
The Tsoukourou, a thirty-six-year-old designer of railway stations, whose name means "I make" or "I build" - but not "I create" - believes that he leads a colorless life, without a trace of personality. At the age of twenty, he is rejected, for unknown reasons and through summary procedures, by his idealized group: two boys and two girls, with names that correspond to four different colors. The "colorless" Tsoukourou silently accepts the rejection, reaches the brink of death due to emotional shock, and eventually returns to his normal life without having truly recovered. Until sixteen years later, Sarah, a woman who genuinely interests him, perceives his emotional blockage, points her finger at the root of the problem, and urges him to pursue, even retrospectively, a deep connection with his "colorful" group in order to illuminate the details of his deeply hidden psychological trauma, understand the causes, and handle reality in a redemptive way for himself and their relationship.
The renowned Haruki Murakami masterfully captures on paper the unforgettable story of a young man haunted by a tremendous loss. A story about dreams and nightmares, about journeys into the past that are necessary for healing the present.

Reviews
A sensitive book that reveals the most sensitive aspects of a solitary person, gradually showing us how loneliness and alienation can affect our psyche, but also how this situation can ultimately result in a journey of creation and self-discovery. And all of this, through the familiar, simple, concise, and lyrical writing of Murakami.
