Description

The orphan girl who grew up unwanted in her aunt's house, who was educated in the inhumane charitable institution, Jane Eyre, maintains her integrity, finds work as a governess in Thornfield Hall, meets and falls in love with Mr. Rochester. Through her life, work, and love, she claims and earns dignity, respect, and self-respect, things unheard of for most women in Victorian society. Charlotte Bronte's novel is a portrait of the era, but also a timeless love story that does not end with marriage, but establishes a new life.

I finished it a few days ago and I really don't know how to feel about this book. It's one of those books that you like and dislike at the same time.

Personally, it was a book that I really wanted to read. It started off really well, it won me over as a reader, I enjoyed the beautiful descriptions and the atmosphere of the story, I became attached to the characters of the book but oh God... from a certain point onwards, I got tired! You might say... logical! Since you've been reading it for 4 months! And yet! That's not the reason!

I believe that the story of this book starts to become somewhat boring from the point where Jane Eyre finds a job as a governess in Thornfield Hall, meets and falls in love with Mr. Rochester. I noticed so many descriptions and narrations that may have been enjoyable at first but turned out to be pointless and tiresome along the way. I never sympathized with Mr. Rochester nor was I convinced by the author about this love. Also... the ending! Why?

I sympathized and empathized a lot with Jane Eyre! A dynamic, self-centered girl (in a good way), tormented by the difficult childhood years she lived alongside her cruel aunt, but also a woman who fought for her "wants," dreams, goals, and love until the end!
