...This is a book that I really wish I hadn't written. It is a subject that I really wish didn't exist in Greece and that I hadn't dealt with. Unfortunately, as is often the case, our desires are different from reality. I started systematically dealing with the issue of extremism and political violence from the early stages of the Greek crisis, about 4 years ago. I began to worry, observing how some friends and acquaintances were changing. Phenomena that seemed very important to me, such as violence in universities or attacks and harassment against politicians and intellectuals, were seen by them as indifferent or even welcome. I supported, and continue to believe, that the approval of political violence is synonymous with the denial of democracy itself. When I said in discussions that I feared the snake's egg was being hatched, very few shared my concerns. Even more so, because I did not turn a blind eye to identifying the phenomena of political violence only on the one side, the "evil" side. Until the summer of 2011 came and the movement of the outraged was formed. There, the phenomenon of brown-red political extremism took shape. The upper and lower square, the left and the right according to conventional typology, coexisted and shared a large number of common slogans, with the most emblematic being "let the brothel, the Parliament, burn"...
