Recommended Dosage

  • One capsule per day, preferably late in the afternoon.

Of course, it does what it promises, like most products containing MONACOLIN-K with a concentration of 10mg per capsule. It reduces total cholesterol by 20% to 30% and even more the "bad" LDL cholesterol. So far, so good. BUT... Unfortunately, MONACOLIN-K has now been proven to be a statin, specifically "lovastatin". It belongs to one of the categories of drugs prescribed to lower cholesterol. So YES, take it (like all similar products with the same ingredient), but ALWAYS after consulting with your doctor. Also, be careful that these products do not contain the characterized toxic substance "citrinin".

As for the claim that the level of monacolin has decreased, do some research before criticizing: "In 2018, EFSA issued an opinion on monacolin K in red yeast rice, supporting the concern about the safety of monacolins from RYR when used as dietary supplements at a level of 10 mg/day."
