Corruption and its combat had a direct relationship with the subject of my work at the Bank of Greece, where I worked as an inspector for thirty-four consecutive years. During the investigation of the phenomenon of corruption at a practical and theoretical level, I constantly encountered a fundamental question: Could the global capitalist system with its hidden agendas be characterized as corrupt?
