    The mechanism it has for hanging can only be used on doors that have a straight finish at the top. It DOES NOT fit the mechanism on old doors with a cornice. However, it can be screwed onto any door, as I did, and it is probably necessary for stability. Fortunately, it is a storage door and I don't mind. For me, it did its job since I was able to screw it onto the door. But if someone is renting a house or doesn't want to make holes in the door, they should probably look for something else.

    It is not entirely metal as the description says. The side parts are plastic and the rods that hold the shoes are metal. Easy assembly.
