Unlike traditional optical cameras that detect visible light, thermal cameras operate using thermal sensors to visually represent the heat of objects and provide an overall effective way to detect thermal anomalies.

AGC automatically adjusts the gain of the input signal, allowing the camera to adjust the image brightness according to lighting conditions. During low light conditions, AGC increases the gain to improve visibility, while during bright conditions it can reduce the gain to avoid overexposure of the image.
