In a small alley in Tokyo, there is a café that has been serving well-brewed coffee for more than a hundred years. However, this shop offers a unique experience to its customers – the ability to travel back in time.
Four people visit the café, each hoping to use the time travel to converse with the lover who left, receive a letter from the husband who has lost his memory, see their sister one last time, and meet the daughter they never had the chance to know. But traveling to the past comes with risks: Customers must sit in a specific chair, they must not leave the café, and most importantly, they must return to the present before the coffee gets cold…
The sweet, moving story by Toshikazu Kawaguchi explores the eternal question: What would you change if you could travel to the past? And most importantly, who would you like to meet, perhaps for one last time?
