  I was lucky enough for the onboard Realtek to break down, so I got this card. I say lucky because nowadays most of us make do with onboard sound and we don't search for sound cards like we used to. The difference with the onboard is noticeable mainly in clarity - quality. Those of you with a "trained" ear will easily notice that there are many more details discernible when listening to a music piece, especially if you are using a good speaker system. Small in size, it won't take up space in your case, as it can be connected to a PCIe x1.0 slot. It also has a socket, of course, for the connector that controls the front inputs-outputs of the case (front panel header audio connector). It works flawlessly on Windows 11, "driving" a 5.1 speaker set from Creative. Simple and user-friendly software, which with minimal settings enhances the whole sound experience quite a bit.

  Many things play a significant role in a better sound experience, but I will not suggest details that I do not understand sufficiently.

  Well, the sound card is value for money, and I believe that no one will be dissatisfied.

  It presents a noticeable difference compared to the onboard of the motherboard, especially when you combine it with the software, which, as correctly mentioned above, prefer the official Creative website, gives life to the speakers (whether in low end or something better).

  The sound is awesome, I have connected 2 audio systems (a Logitech stereo 2.0 and a nod 2.1) with T headphones and it has a huge problem. The neighbors. The only real issue is the drivers, which you download from the company's support page and not from the CD because it's terrible, it freezes with every parameter setting.   I bought it because of a faulty onboard sound card. But I also tried it with other cards I had in storage.
  The sound is better than onboard, but not as good as more expensive standalone sound cards.
  -1 star for the sound.
  Logical and understandable. I don't have high expectations compared to the Xonar I have that costs 200.

  But what I can't understand with these cheap cards is that in the 21st century there would be a sound card that can't do upmixing.
  In browsers and movies that are stereo, you can activate Surround from the SBX Controller menu, but in games like Forza or Payday (reference games for testing sound card upmixing) it plays in stereo without bass redirection. Without being able to do anything from the console.
  Realtek does this on all their chips, which are in 90% of the cards.
  And the standalone ones can't?
  Even more so for Creative!

  So -1 more star.

  Total -2.
  The remaining 3 stars are for the software and good sound for the money
  and...
  The headphones.

  The headphones are its strong point.
  Powerful and full of sound.
  Tested with over-ear headphones from Philips, Sony, and Tactic3D Rage.
  It's great with headphones!

  And owners (who are the majority) of 2 or 2.1 speakers won't be disappointed at all.

  I bought it after an accident I had, which completely rendered my on-board sound card useless, with the aim of quickly replacing it.
  In general, I don't have high demands from the sound card and the result is highly satisfactory, with very good performance. The only negatives in its use are the absence of separate virtual devices for each input/output of the card (e.g. connecting headphones to the front output simply isolates the speakers from the rear output and I cannot have them simultaneously) and the absence of a "stereo mix" (or "what you hear" as it used to be called) recording input.
  Also, the price at which I got it (~36€) is considered high compared to what the card offers (at least for me), but simply because I needed it immediately, it was the most economical choice considering the urgency.

  The software that comes with the card is very good and user-friendly. I noticed a big difference compared to a simple card I had in the microphone input. Even if I whisper, my girlfriend can now hear me through Skype, and I have a simple Logitech desktop microphone. I'm not a pro in sound, but it satisfies me completely. It's a great addition if, for example, you don't have a sound card on your motherboard (like in my case where I burned it) or if you want to upgrade from 2.1 to 5.1. My only complaint is the price. It cost me around 40 euros, and I believe that a simple card like this shouldn't cost more than 25 euros. But that is purely subjective. It covered my needs as a card, it's just that the price seems a bit high to me

  Good choice if your motherboard's sound card is burned out. It doesn't have anything different from the on-board one.
