This review is about the colour: Blue

For the last 2 years, I have bought 3 pairs of MAX5. All 3 are exactly the same size. The third pair I bought from you (blue with yellow... I am attaching a photo) has blackened/caused 2 toenails on my left foot. I don't run many kilometers, I take the same routes, and I never wear worn-out socks. I really wonder what the problem is with this new pair...

I bought this specific shoe in size 44 on sale from Cosmos Sport for 108 euros. At the time of the review, the price for this color and size is 165 euros (quite expensive).
I come from the Adidas Ultraboost 22, which I ran 1450 km with (yes, I know, I wore them out), and if someone sees them, they would think I just bought them now.
Let's get to the evaluation of the Mach 5.
First of all, I have done 2 workouts, totaling 25 km so far. So, it's completely new for now, I just wanted to give the initial impression and I will come back with a new evaluation.

    POSITIVES (so far):
    1. VERY lightweight. Very, very much so. Like fake. I gave my daughter (a little girl) the Ultraboost 22 in one hand and the Mach 5 in the other and asked her which one is lighter, and she answered without hesitation, the HOKA. So if a 10-year-old can feel the difference from a very good Adidas shoe, imagine the difference after 1.5-2 hours of running.
    2. Very good cushioning. Although I am not heavy (I weigh 70 kg), wearing the HOKA, I understood what cushioning means. With the Ultraboost, I never felt anything. Maybe someone with more weight would feel a bigger difference. But for me, it was like day and night in terms of cushioning between the Mach 5 and Ultraboost.
    3. Pace. In the two workouts I did, I feel like I could maintain a high pace (based on my own times) with more comfort and for a longer time. I don't know if this is related to the weight and the high cushioning. I will come back to this when I have done more kilometers for a more accurate conclusion. But I have this feeling.
    4. Recovery. And here is a huge difference compared to the Ultraboost 22. In workouts over 1 hour of running, I felt a general pain/tightness in the sole after finishing the workout (it would go away after some time, of course). In the 2 workouts with the Mach 5, I didn't feel that, and after taking off the shoes, it was as if I hadn't run at all. Nice feeling. I was impressed!

    NEGATIVES (so far):
    1. The construction quality seems average. Again, I am comparing it to the Ultraboost 22, which has excellent quality. Whether it will withstand the test of time remains to be seen. But all the materials seem cheaper than those of Adidas. We'll see...
    2. They require a proper and strong lacing to keep the shoe stable. With the Ultraboost, I was used to just tying the laces so they wouldn't hang (you could run with them untied).
    3. The tongue of the shoe is very soft and flexible. I don't know if this is a disadvantage or a problem. We'll see. I just mention it because I noticed it.

Obviously, as you can see, my review is based on a comparison with the Adidas Ultraboost 22, which is truly a remarkable shoe. I will say which one I liked and suited me better in the future. Oh, also, I bought size 44, while in the Ultraboost, I was a 44.5 and it was tight.

    Happy running to everyone!

Amazing shoes for amateur use, they hugged my foot from the first moment. It's the first time I buy this specific brand.

Bought for 107.5 euros. In size 43 1/3, it weighs 231 grams. It is a running shoe. Good shoe with breathable fabric. Tongue with elastic and good grip. Mid to hard heel. Fits very well on the foot. Hard sole, which bothers me a lot, but stable and with the right amount of material. It withstands intense workouts but tires due to the sole.

I had ended my relationship with Hoka... but this particular shoe is something else, it gives you the feeling of having a carbon plate while it doesn't, very cushioned and very comfortable from long to short intervals, be careful with the size, it's quite long
