  I have the Paperwhite Signature Edition with 32GB and no ads. The size is suitable for one-handed reading and offers the ability to read even at the beach in sunlight as well as some protection from water -- an ideal companion in the summer. Even for reading in the evening, the screen lights up and has a setting for warmer light. Clearly better reading quality -- in terms of clarity/resolution and less eye strain -- than a tablet or ultraportable laptop due to the screen technology, without adding significant weight to the backpack during travel or daily commutes. I recommend purchasing a cover, not a screen protector, for the protection of the screen during transport. Depending on the size and origin (Kindle editions or PDF, etc.) of your e-library, it is likely a good addition to the devices you use daily.
