K. Kartheios undertook the translation of "Macbeth" after persistent urging from Marika Kotopouli and this is the first Shakespearean work that the unforgettable intellectual gave to our language. Since then, this translation has been worked on six times with exemplary conscientiousness, wise preparation, impeccable judgment, and the poetic talent of K. Kartheios, in order to take its final form, the one it has in this edition.
