The Masons and the aliens, the Nephilim and the pilots of the planes that spray us, the assassins of Kennedy and the Jewish Bolshevik Wise Men of Zion, all implement multiple dark conspiracies against us. However, there is an additional relentless global conspiracy, the one that imposes on us not to think about what exactly the term Conspiracy Theory means and what are the political and social consequences of spreading such, ambiguously defined, theories.

The book attempts to read the history of the emergence of various secret conspiracies which, supposedly, "explained" the French Revolution; it examines the much more recent creation of the term Conspiracy Theory in the 20th century; it attempts to understand what exactly the term means and what phenomena it includes.

Its goal is to reveal how conspiracy theories, contrary to common perception, are actually elements of dominant ideology. They spontaneously derive from the ideological structure of the modern state and become tools, in the hands of powers that do not conspire secretly, for the overt - and not secret - management of politics within late capitalist societies.
