As an institution with particular significance in almost all societies, the family has been and continues to be an extremely interesting field of research for the social sciences. Specifically, the approach to the family from the science of psychology has been mainly associated with the interest in the internal dynamics of the family and the types of relationships that develop among its members. By its nature, the family constitutes the framework within which the individual develops biologically, emotionally, and cognitively, while also being significantly socialized. Therefore, the study of the ways in which the family contributes to the development of the individual is a highly interesting but also challenging research field.

This book attempts to document a portion of the research conducted in Greece concerning the impact of the family framework on the development of children and adolescents. In this way, the reader will form an initial understanding of the issues that concern research both internationally and in our country, and will better comprehend the significant changes occurring today in the form of families and in the relationships of people within and outside the family framework.
