There is no stronger psychological weapon than self-abnegation. If you convince yourself that you are the most honest person in society, you will not find it difficult to declare war on corruption. If you believe that you are Alexander the Great, you do not consider any natural obstacle capable of diverting your goals and aspirations. Something similar can happen in politics. Nothing touches your beliefs and convictions if you acquire the certainty that for every failure, another opposing political choice is responsible. You blame it for all the troubles and you do not doubt for a moment about your own, essentially destructive, policies.
