After 3 months of wearing them, I can say that this is the first time I am quite satisfied with "open type" shoes. Of course, I would say that the feeling they give you is more similar to "closed type" due to the weight and reduced elasticity. I would say they are something in between, and having experience with previous NB shoes, I can feel a difference in elasticity and weight. They are definitely not cool, even though they have mesh on top, your feet get sweaty in high temperatures. As for comfort, the first time you wear them, you feel like you're walking on air due to the "Fresh Foam" as the company claims. One problem I had with this type of shoes is that the mesh would tear after a few months from the toes, but this didn't happen this time because these shoes have Toe Protect, which is a reinforced plastic piece in the front area of the toes, similar to Martens but with plastic instead of metal, so the toes don't come in contact with the mesh as much. Another thing I liked and noticed before buying them is that the sole doesn't collect dirt, pebbles, etc., and it doesn't slip at all, especially on dry surfaces but also on wet ones, maybe on shiny wet tiles, but nothing to worry about. Overall, I would say I would buy them again, especially if they last a long time, mainly because of the Toe Protect and the sole. However, I advise that if someone wants airy lightweight shoes, it's better to avoid them, as there are much better options out there. If someone wants something sturdy with some degree of foot protection, I recommend them.

Now, after a total of about 6 months of use, they are being put back in their box for the next summer. Wearing the Fila Memory Workshift again made me appreciate the New Balance shoes more. The Fila shoes really feel like slippers compared to them, and I am considering buying another pair of NB shoes. The only downside I noticed is that the lining in the heel started to wear off due to friction, mainly on one shoe. By the time I wear them again next year, I believe the lining will have come off, a classic problem with athletic shoes. I haven't noticed any other wear and tear besides that.
