The preaching is a "liturgy" (Rom 15:16). The word of God differs from every form of human speech, because it aims to convey to man the will of God, to reveal and convey to man the message of God's love, the assurance that "God is with us" in every circumstance of our lives. This is especially true when the word of God is heard and offered within the framework of the Divine Liturgy, in which the Word "becomes flesh" and is offered to man for communion. In this context, preaching must be offered with reverence and attention so as not to disturb the worshipful atmosphere created by the Divine Liturgy.
