The Victorian Guide to Pleasure (Romance of Lust) was released in four volumes (1873-1876) and is a classic pornographic novel, which has been criticized for its explicit descriptions and shocking sexual acts. Since then, it has been reissued several times in many languages. The author remained anonymous from the beginning, although it is speculated that the book may be the work of William Simpson Potter or Edward Sellon, names that had signed similar works at that time.
