This book includes texts that condense theoretical quests and ideological-political reflections of the last two decades. In most cases, these texts are of general concern, with particular emphasis on the need, on the one hand, to finally clarify, at all levels, the concept of progressive politics and the identity of the Greek progressive space, and on the other hand, to explore synthetically, without dogmatism, delays, and prejudices, the essential conditions for the unity and perspective of this space. However, there are also many texts of more specific reflection (and introspection), which reflect not only the author's interest in current politics but also his experiential relationship, for many years, with the space of democratic socialism. Specifically, these texts concern primarily PASOK, with positions and proposals - but also with strong critical interventions regarding its ongoing conservative mutation - both during the period of its first fluctuations, in the first decade of the 21st century, and during the period of crisis and subsequent intense searches for its overcoming. Secondly, they concern SYRIZA, whose positions and political practice are approached with a strong critical disposition but also with a balanced and sober political evaluation, not only of its explosive and controversial course but also of the role it is called upon, under certain conditions, to play in the political events of the contemporary (center) left.
