I purchased this camera for my balcony and the truth is that for my case it was not the best choice as it is quite bulky and not flexible, which made installation very difficult. I find its design somewhat strange and ugly, resulting in it not only being discreet but also attracting the attention of visitors, not with good intentions. If you add to this the installation of the solar panel for charging as well as the unwieldy Wi-Fi antennas, then your balcony will definitely become uglier. However, if we are talking about a space where aesthetics do not play a big role (e.g. estate, terrace, professional space, etc.) then perhaps this camera might be a very good choice.
First of all, we are talking about a camera with a built-in 10000mAh battery which can be sufficient if it operates in sleep mode. So, if the camera is not constantly online and you have it just to record when motion is detected and you check online for a few seconds, it may only drop by 2% in a day. This means that it might be able to last even almost 2 months without needing to be charged or the solar panel installed. In this way (if easily accessible), you might be able to recharge it with a power bank and have it running for another 2 months, etc. If the above scenario works, we will be talking about an ideal purchase for a space where you might struggle to bring power without drilling walls and cables.
Moreover, we are talking about a camera with many features where, in combination with the O-KAM Pro application, you can tailor it to your needs. You can set motion + human detection with tracking (following the movement of the person), record with sound either in the cloud (default) with a 3-day cycle in the free subscription or on a memory card, move it right/left/up/down via remote control, set default coordinates to manually reset it to its position or have it return automatically after 1 minute, set default or custom recording schedules, activate white light or siren on each detection, receive immediate push notifications on your phone or even emails for each event, see at night either in black and white (with infrared) or color, communicate two-way and be heard loudly through the speaker, see the battery percentage and Wi-Fi signal, and maybe do other things that I have not discovered yet. Its specifications support that it is IP66, meaning it is completely dustproof and resistant to strong water jets, which seems strange to me as its construction has many holes and recesses. Winter will show as it is definitely exposed to wind and will take in a lot of water and maybe even snow.
One negative aspect I find in my case is that even though the motion detection distance is set to far, it does not detect motion beyond 3 meters. However, this may also be due to the morphology of my balcony as for proper detection, movement must be recorded horizontally towards the camera and not vertically (as advised in this video https://youtu.be/BRwxQJvUYek).
Also, the O-KAM Pro application does not provide a widget or shortcut to have direct access to the camera from the home screen, while the camera is not connected to Google Home.
