The ignorance of theology on one hand, and an unrelenting and superficial acceptance of foreign superstitions towards the Orthodox faith on the other, have unfortunately led people to overestimate the terms "evil eye," "removal of the evil eye," and "amulet," giving them unjustifiably significant importance in their lives.

Through this study, Archimandrite Vasilios Papadakis attempts to explain the exact mindset of the Orthodox Church regarding the evil eye and its treatment, which naturally contradicts popular and pagan perceptions about it, as well as the incorrect approach towards it that, unfortunately, has been adopted by many faithful and devout Christians.
