We live in interesting times.

The sense of great transformation is intense even for those who are left to the impressions of their own daily routine. From 2008 until today, of course, this sense is produced by images of collapse and by the anxiety for the arrival of even greater disasters. The old world is dying and the new one has not yet been born. What is it, however, that is collapsing? And what is this new thing whose creation we can reasonably pursue? To put it in Gramsci's terms, can this "time of monsters" also produce hope? Because this is the main question that the left is called to answer. The analytical highlighting of the gloom is not the task today - people experience it directly. The issue is hope and faith in a much better world.
