Description

Secrets. Betrayal. Seduction. Power. You are in the Alexandrian Club.

Knowledge is slaughter. You cannot acquire it without sacrifice. The Alexandrian Club, the hiding place of lost knowledge from the greatest civilizations of antiquity, is the largest secret society of academic magicians in the world. Those who gain a place among the Alexandrians will secure a life of wealth, power, and prestige. Only once every ten years, six uniquely talented magicians are chosen for the trials.

The six chosen ones are Libi and Nikos who have incredible control over matter, Reina, a physiognomist who understands the language of nature, Parisa, a telepath who seduces to read the thoughts of others, Callum, a manipulator with hallucinatory actions that turns anyone into a compliant creature, and Tristan who recognizes spells and illusions. When the candidates are recruited by the mysterious 'Atlas Blakeley, they learn that they will have one year for the final selection.

Who has the will and ability to succeed, while reality becomes more blurred day by day and morality begins to corrode? If the six candidates prove to themselves that they are the best, they will survive, at least most of them.

It has a fantastic foundation for a nice story, but I couldn't focus on the book at all; I didn't understand even half of what I was reading. The book is beautiful, with one of the best paper and cover qualities I have ever seen.
