    The lens for its money is very good. Its brightness is about 100 lumens and the light emitted by the LED is quite white. Also, the LED socket is such that if for some reason it breaks, it can take a simple 3v bulb or another LED. During testing, the LED can even work with just one 1.5v battery, producing satisfactory light, which means it can work even with very low batteries. Although it says it is not waterproof, the seals it has make it waterproof, but not for rain, etc., not for immersion in water.
