In a few words, the best Sonic of recent years, even compared to the (excellent) Sonic Mania. Open world, yet not boring at all, as the mechanics of Sonic are so well integrated that you enjoy exploring and running around collecting all sorts of things.

The battles are more interesting than ever, with real combos and abilities that have a purpose, without creating noise - few and good. So, from the bosses to the simple enemies, tactics change and the combination of abilities along with basic combos is a pleasant change from running and collecting. Both in the 3D and 2D levels, the controls are precise and responsive, with the only complaint being the camera in the 3D levels, where sometimes it goes to the most unlikely point for no reason.

The soundtrack (which is also on Spotify) is equally high-quality as the graphics and gameplay, with rock and nu metal music that fits Sonic like a glove. Especially when he transforms into Super Sonic and the battle takes on a new dimension, the fast rhythms of the music accompany the action very well.

And in terms of the story, something fresh. Yes, there are the classic characters (Eggman, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, etc.), but we go beyond the ordinary. Ancient tribes and secrets are more central to the story than Eggman's diabolical plans, making the game resemble more of a spiritual successor to Sonic Adventure than a traditional Sonic that simply turned into 3D.

An excellent game, worth the wait, we look forward to the next one!

Very fun, which is why the Sonic fanbase is satisfied after so many mediocre Sonic games. Each island has different puzzles and mini bosses, although the structure is repetitive: collect 'hearts' and gears to play the 2D levels and collect keys to obtain the emeralds. The music is awesome. The worst flaw is the tragic pop-in. The levels are full but appear empty. The panoramic screenshots that appear 'empty' are wrong. There is chaos within them. Give Sonic Frontiers a chance.
