  First of all, it only has instructions in English. They are accompanied by images, but you need to know the language to understand. Secondly, the lid must be closed in order for it to work, but this ensures safety. I bought it for my almost 5-year-old daughter to make her ponytails when her mom is not around. She is very excited about it. On the negative side, unless I'm doing it wrong, it doesn't start tying the threads from the root or at least close to the root. The pictures outside the box are a bit misleading. However, for the 12€ I paid, I am satisfied.
