To load a spear gun, you need experience to understand how to position your body and use it as a lever to pull with more force. If you can't do it, it's not the spear gun's fault, it's yours. You can watch videos and train yourself, and soon you will succeed and even have fun.
The 19mm bands on a 26-inch gun for a beginner may be a challenging track, but not something so terrible.
I have seen a 65kg untrained person loading it easily and not changing it. So relax a bit with the bands, wear a wetsuit with a chest pad to avoid pain, or cut a flipper and put it on every time you load.
It is my first purchase of this particular speargun. I will agree that the rubber bands are excessively hard. Even for loading at the first notch, it requires a lot of strength. I managed to load it, but due to the difficult loading, I only make a few shots. The loading pad hurts a lot without a wetsuit.

I have done 3 fishing trips so far with this gun (I also have the 82 and the 90 pro), coming from a 75 with a reel... From the second fishing trip onwards, I had tremendous accuracy. So the gun is incredibly accurate. The shaft has already hit rocks and it hasn't bent or anything. Just file the tip a little from hitting it hard and it's ready. Really, the loading is very easy (I have made a makeshift construction with a latex band passed through a flip-flop sole and I add it additionally to the chest where I have no problem and it works well). The grip is good, the trigger is sensitive! Be careful when loading, always make sure it clicks, keep your fingers away from the trigger in general (a slight pressure is enough to shoot) and when loading, always check that the spear is properly inserted into the notch and not crooked due to haste or incorrect loading technique. EDIT: I have been fishing with this gun for 8 months every week, it is incredibly good and accurate. The shaft hasn't suffered any damage, it just needs regular filing if you encounter rocks. Get it with your eyes closed. Very powerful and when the bands wear out, you can get a smaller size and it will be just like the old set
Very good spear gun, I must say, for the fishing I do, waiting in shallow waters, searching and swimming. As the owner of the pro 90 closed head, I am completely satisfied. If you learn how to handle the weapon, you can shoot at quite long distances, but it requires trust and self-confidence because long shots can be intimidating. The 19mm bands are sufficient for this gun, and there is no need for exaggeration with double bands, etc., as stronger tension will cause bending of the barrel. The only negative aspect that someone might notice after years of use is the buoyancy, especially with white fish that can move faster. The mechanism is flawless, no issues in the 4-5 years that I have had it, and the barrel is simply amazing - incredible flexibility and a great alloy that provides incredible resistance to impacts on rocks, stones, etc. I don't understand the comments that these guns are not armed as they come from the manufacturer. Band guns require strength to arm, and yes, the second notch requires more strength than the first, but it's a matter of getting used to it. I am relatively fit, but I have friends who are twice my weight and muscle mass and they can't even arm the first notch. Arming is also a matter of technique. The only thing I would change is perhaps an open head for faster arming and better accuracy, but again, I have noticed these things after many fishing trips. A beginner who wants to get into spearfishing will make the best choice if they choose this gun, both the 90 and the 82, although I would recommend the 90 because once they gain experience, the 90 will feel more convenient. This barrel is exactly what the gun needs, no need for any changes. Also, definitely switch to a reel after some time when the fisherman's skills improve, but I would recommend it from the beginning because you never know what fish will appear in front of you. If I were to make a new purchase, it would be for something more powerful for longer shots and bigger fish, although with this specific gun, you can catch quite large fish.
As a beginner, I bought the Pathos Pro 75.. I highly recommend it, the gun simply can't be beat.. accurate and very powerful tool, comfortable grip and overall it has very good materials on it.. I believe it is perfectly tuned and doesn't need any modifications..

The disadvantage is the buttplate, which if you don't have slippers or wear a protective suit, will scratch your chest and abs. Also, the loading mechanism requires strong arms, especially the second notch, which if not properly secured, can say goodbye to your finger. I filed down the second notch a bit to insert the spear deeper and saved myself. It also lacks a bit in long-range shooting. Okay, the length is not ideal, but targeting anything over 2, 2.5 meters is difficult, especially with faster and more elusive fish like saragos.

Hey guys at Pathos, do you have the impression that the spearfishers immediately go for a dive in the sea with the 82 pro as soon as they finish their mainland program? And let me explain. The setup of the gun with the rubber it comes with is WRONG, wrong, wrong unless you hire a masseur to arm it. And the first ladder with its own bell is difficult. I armed it with a longer bell and a pad on the chest (first ladder, of course). After the third shot, I abandoned the fight because the excessive pressure on my chest caused me pain - suffering from Pathos. Partially responsible is also the excessively small handle that doesn't seem to offer anything. As for the SAFETY, to be sure that it's engaged, you have to use the index finger of the left hand while holding the gun with the right (excessively short). Now, the HANDLE, for those with shovel-like hands - even with gloves - it will be small (most people will be fine). So, is the gun bad? On the contrary, it is powerful and accurate, and if the guys - as we said - set it up differently (and engage the SAFETY), it will perform amazingly. So, when ordering the gun, add a pair of rubbers to the price. And a question. Does the sandblasted barrel help anywhere other than scratching our hand in case of a mishap?
The mechanism is terrible, many times I struggle to secure it. I think the rod needs to be replaced. It's good for the money, but I would buy another one.
Overrated for its price. The plastic handle and sole are of poor quality, as if they were made of recycled plastic. Otherwise, it is satisfactory. Accurate and powerful. Even with the sole behind the handle, the assembly on the second step is not easy with the 19mm rubber it comes with when you purchase it, compared to the 75mm one I got. The safety requires some initial work and the mechanical rope grab moves left and right, apart from up and down, meaning it shakes. Personally, I would recommend the 75mm to be set with 2 thinner rubber bands and the bell, which is of very good construction, to be 3 millimeters wider in length, it's fine.
The first 5 catches with this gun have impressed me. I mainly swim and hunt in shallow reefs. The 82 pro behaves like a classic 90, so don't be afraid of its size. It is an incredibly balanced weapon, you can literally handle it with just one finger underwater. The feeling of the "sagre" barrel is amazing, I think it makes the aim of the gun more effective. Accuracy is 100%. The shot is not very long-range, but it is not weak either, after all, we are talking about a classic single-band gun. The "manisia" spear is also very high-quality, sturdy, and durable, 6.5mm. Later, I might try it with a 6.75, I think I will gain more power. I believe we are talking about one of the best value for money general-purpose spear guns. I also bought the reel (don't get confused, it is not included in the package) and now I have a good weapon for the tasks I want.
A small update about the gun, which I have been using for two years now. My impression remains excellent, but it should be noted that ultimately its range is small. Even with changed guerilla bands, it still doesn't comfortably reach the 2.5-3 lengths of the spear that we want from our gun. It is excellent for close-range work near the rocks, which is my main fishing style, perfect as a secondary weapon but not suitable for hunting in deeper waters.
First time trying Pathos, its capabilities are incredible, I believe it's the best weapon so far compared to the previous ones I had, accurate, the handle feels like it was designed for my hand, lightweight in the water and easy to move around, very durable construction materials, I'm thinking of getting it in a longer length, the reel is sold separately by the company. It's a reliable weapon and worth every last euro, I highly recommend it.
First dive and I immediately realized the incredible capabilities of this very good buoyancy, its power will amaze you incredibly strong and on the first ladder, accuracy 100% (tested). As for the size, you should know that it also comes in 75, 90, I don't remember for more. Personally, I would give a lot more money for this weapon because it's worth it.
A very good spear gun, accurate, very convenient size for diving and searching, but for very narrow rocks, a 70cm one would do the job better. Powerful, although the rubber bands naturally need to be changed depending on the distance and speed of the targets we hunt. Very good spear gun with impressive capabilities in all types of fishing. For me, it is the perfect balance for searching and holes, due to its reverse mechanism it is like an 85 conventional. The friend I dive with has the 90 which is better for long distances but somewhat difficult to maneuver when changing direction. I highly recommend it.
Perhaps one of the best, most versatile weapons on the market. The Pathos pro 82 is the tool for all tasks (almost). Its length, combined with the reverse mechanism, gives the weapon flexibility in searching without depriving you of the ability for a medium-range shot, if the opportunity arises. The F19 rubber bands it has provide enough power for experienced users and a new experience for new users, as the length of the weapon does not hinder easy arming. The weapon is not suitable for very long shots without a second rubber band, due to the relatively short length of the barrel. The only disadvantage one may find is the thickness of the barrel, which is 6.5mm, which in my opinion, maybe a 6.75 would suit it better. Attention to new buyers, most of the photos show the reel, which is sold separately.
