purchase 10/8/2020, died on 19/8/2024 suddenly while I was working on linux mint. Lasted 1 year longer than the warranty.

I have it on my PC/Server that runs 24/7, for C with Windows 10 Pro on top, from November 2017 until today, 08/02/2024, and it still works with 68% health, but I replaced it with the NVMe WD SN850X 2TB so it doesn't suddenly die on me, and also for the capacity issue that I now want more of. Simply excellent!

Not even 500gb were written in total and the SSD didn't even boot up one fine morning. It doesn't even power on (tested on 2 other PCs).
Stay away from it, it's of poor quality, overall garbage. I have bought Crucial MX for the same price, installed them in various PCs, and after 3 or 4 years, they still work perfectly with around 95% health. Congratulations to WD for buying Sandisk's garbage and rebranding it.

When the disk is empty, it runs quite fast. The more loaded it is, the slower its speed decreases. It is logical that this happens with every disk, but with this specific one, this phenomenon is very apparent. More specifically, when I was using 80-90 GB, the startup time was 9-10 seconds. When it had 120 GB free, the startup time became 14-15 seconds. I'm not saying it's slow, and of course, it's faster than any HDD, but keep this in mind

I bought 2 240GB drives on the same day for a FreeNAS and one was in parity with the other. They both failed on the exact same day!!! after 2 years and 7 months. Dual Failure!!! One with "Bad Disk" and the other with "Too many bad sectors". Luckily, I had a backup.
At least they were within the 3-year warranty. Overall, I have 10-12 SSD drives in various machines and with these 2, I had a total of 3 SSD disk failures.
In the end, I learned my lesson, that in parity check or RAID drives, it's good not to use the same drive or if you do, they shouldn't be from the same production date. It increases the risk of both failing simultaneously, as happened to me.

My computer has become better since I bought it, of course I didn't have an SSD before.. I am very satisfied

The startup is very fast.
I don't play games but when it needs access to the hard drive, it is quite fast.

The purchase was made on 1/23/2020, currently the disk is flying, read write speeds are quite close to the advertised specifications, about 520mb/sec read and 460mb/sec write. It was installed in a Dell Inspiron 15 3567 with an i3 6006u to replace my ancient Kingston SV300 120gb, which after years of use and 15tb of write cycles, doesn't go above 150-200mb/read write and has millions of rear raw errors daily.

It was cloned from the old one to the new one and everything is working perfectly, the boot and response of the computer are noticeably better. I will come back with an update soon. For now, 5 stars.

For now, a 9-year-old laptop with a tragic AMD A3300 processor has been resurrected... Tested with both Windows and Linux. Especially with Linux, it makes my Dell (with a 4th generation i5 and 8GB RAM, SSD, and Windows 8.1) seem like a snail that has had a stroke...!!! I don't have an opinion on its durability yet as I've only had it for a month... So far, everything is running smoothly...!!! It's a great value for money at 30 euros.

A truly bad SSD. WD has recently changed the NAND and controller of the hard drive, which can be seen in its model number (WDS240G2G0A, while the old ones are WDS240G1G0A). All the reviews you can find are now inaccurate, as the disk has essentially changed, resulting in it not even coming close to the advertised speeds. You can see detailed speeds in the review below. Waste of money, better to choose another one.

Anyone who has it and doesn't believe me, just run Crystal Disk Mark and see the numbers.

Maybe one of the most VFM ssd in this capacity. I installed it 2 months ago to upgrade my old quad-core PC with Intel Q9550, 8Gb ram, MSI R9 270x and another new 2TB HDD from Western as storage space. Used for boot and programs. The result justified my choice by giving 80% reduced startup time for Windows 7 64bit as well as program startup! For example: Chrome in about 3sec, Office programs in 2sec. No overheating or noise observed. Clearly smoother operation of the PC now and also in a game test the result was extremely satisfactory. Choose the version with larger capacity for gaming use since the difference is very small, but under no circumstances use it as a "storage" because the chances of losing data are clearly higher compared to an HDD. Two months of use and its performance remains stable like the first day.

The first one was purchased in 8/2018 and was installed in an old PC where it really excelled, working perfectly for 3 months until suddenly everything inside it disappeared. Even the firmware was erased and it was recognized as a SANDISC model without any other details. I took it to be checked and finally it was replaced, the warranty covered me properly, and they gave me a new one apparently produced on 11/2018. It was put in the PC and within 20 days it experienced exactly the same issue. I have never had firmware erased from a device before. I even checked the power supply to make sure it wasn't sending any irregular current. I don't know what could be wrong and I don't know if it's a defect that SSDs have since I have never used another one. In any case, I won't be getting this one again.

It really worth it, especially at 40 euros. Rocket and reliable. WD guarantee!!!!!! Well done once again!!!!!!!

This particular SSD is excellent, I have had it for a few months now and I have no complaints. It is very fast, imagine it doesn't even take the Windows 10 loading circle to open! The price is value for money for this specific brand and for someone looking for something economical! The Western Digital software is very well-made and user-friendly. I highly recommend this SSD, you won't be disappointed!

Low price compared to other WD series, although cheap build quality. I do not observe any operational problems (in replacing a disk from an HP 470 G0 laptop).
There is no software CD included in the package, but you can download the WD SSD Dashboard from the WD website for information (temperature, disk health) and certain actions (e.g. firmware upgrade) in a very simple UI even for a beginner user. Also, a "basic" version of the well-known backup program Acronis True Image (also from the WD website), with some functions activated for free (creating a recovery disk, backing up the entire PC), and other functions for payment (regarding cloud services, file archiving, and sync).

I would recommend it for someone looking for an economical SSD solution.
