Why are reforms a vital concept for the Left? What can be a realistic and humane management of migration? Who is entitled to Greek citizenship? What does democracy punish? How can we effectively address neo-Nazism, sometimes going beyond the "Memorandum-anti-memorandum" divide? How autonomous is the struggle for rights in crisis conditions? Why are security and freedom not contradictory concepts?

These are some of the questions that the book aims to answer. And it tries to do so, documenting the high political risk of the current situation experienced by Greece in specific areas of public policy, while also presenting persuasive exit strategies.

As society and democracy face an unprecedented attack, a policy of containment of the attack is necessary; however, this remains incomplete without a politically capable plan for the aftermath. This is what the Left of rights wants to represent, making the most of the democratic state's acquired assets that are being eroded and the rights that are currently under attack, but also looking beyond liberalism. The horizon of the crisis is unpredictable. Overturning the current crisis management through a sustainable governance proposal is only the beginning of an incredibly difficult path. A path that is worth charting, because the risk it entails is certainly preferable to the deadlock we are experiencing.
