1972. Warm, summer afternoon and three teenagers driving a rented car invade a tough neighborhood in Washington. They insult the children of this neighborhood from the car, and they find themselves trapped in a dead end, while an angry gang gathers behind them. Tragedy strikes soon after.

Thirty-five years later, and the event still remains the defining point of their lives. Alex Pappas, - forever marked by that fateful day -, now manages his father's café. A chance encounter between him and a member of the gang leads to a new connection, where one seeks forgiveness from the other. However, another member, who has just been released from prison, seeks to be compensated for lost time...
