The King of the Day and the Queen of the Night once loved each other madly and decided to unite. However, their love lasted very little; she was made of lies and wickedness, while he was made of truth and kindness; she wanted to dominate with darkness, while he with light. How could they match then? So, they separated, and their great love turned into hatred. A few months later, the dark queen gave birth to a beautiful little girl, Pamina, to whom she never revealed who her father was. When the King of the Day learned about it, he became dark. He wanted to take her close to him. He feared that Pamina, living next to her mother, would take on the traits of her evil character. So, one day he stole her and had her guarded in a beautiful tower. However, the Queen of the Night became furious. The sky then darkened even more and all the stars went out.
