I bought this particular coffee machine 10 years ago, and it is definitely worth the money. In fact, I bought another one for my workplace. Let's start with the coffee, it is very good and with a little effort, everyone can find the settings they like (amount of ground coffee, amount of water, water temperature). It makes a satisfying crema in espresso, even more in a larger cup for cappuccino. It is fast, heats up easily, and you can enjoy a perfect coffee immediately. Cleaning is very important, and it is ridiculously simple, just a simple rinse is enough. Personally, I have replaced the steam wand nozzle (it lacks here) with an auto-cappuccinatore, so I always have hot frothed milk for a tasty cappuccino. The cost of this upgrade was €47.00, ordered from Germany. If you consider the initial purchase cost of €300.00, we are talking about a machine with performance worth €700.00! The grinder makes a little noise, but it is quieter when it presses the coffee. I have made about 7,000 coffees with the first machine and another 6,000 with the second one. I only needed to change the circuit board on the second one (costing €85.00 with shipping from Germany), and I did it myself. Here, they asked for €220.00! It has a light for descaling, and I did the o-ring service and silicone treatment myself (costing up to €10.00). As I said, it is worth the money and more. After using this machine, you will have a problem with the coffee served outside, as the difference will be noticeable when they don't serve good espresso!

I bought it two hours ago, having experience with similar Philips machines. I bought 200gr of coffee beans that I know the taste of, and relatively economical, mainly because I knew that it would take around 100 to 200 grams for the machine to start performing, and I didn't want to waste expensive coffee. So, the seventh coffee was already very close, if not exactly, to the taste of the coffee. What I particularly appreciate is that the analog settings you make have a real and immediate effect on the extraction of the coffee, even the very small adjustments!! This is something that is not certain in other coffee makers... I'm not a barista, but definitely when you buy such a machine, you should at least know what result each adjustment you make should give. I, with no special knowledge, had no difficulty at all. As a machine, it is very beautiful, definitely one of the most beautiful machines of its kind, it gives a quality image, which you can see in practice, in the buttons, and in the application of the plastics. It heats up very quickly, has compact dimensions, and the noise it makes, okay, it's not silent but definitely you can't say it makes a lot of noise. With certainty, it is quieter than Philips, and I believe even quieter than a dolce gusto with capsules. I can't find anything negative, the only thing I still can't say is its durability and performance over time... Something I forgot to mention is that you can make small adjustments to everything.. Water quantity, per dose, coffee per dose, even the water temperature between 4 and 5, I'm not sure about the standard values.. Overall, at €285 and with all the above, I consider it the best value for money purchase.. And because I think someone who is considering buying it will compare it with the others in the same price range, I will say that compared to Philips, which I also looked at, it has the advantage of being able to make double coffee, for Freddo, which I mainly drink, in one extraction cycle. I also believe that its simplicity, meaning the absence of screens and further automation, firstly gives you the ability to make real fine adjustments, and also reduces the chances of malfunctions.. They brought me the machine brand new from Italy and I can say that it makes pretty good coffee, but I will wait for a while to see it in the long run. I say this because as soon as I started it up, it showed me a problem with the water tank light, meaning that when I make the first coffee, the light immediately turns on and I cannot make a second one. I thought maybe I didn't push the tank in properly and it's not making good contact... but then it continued and became a problem for me. I immediately thought of taking it to the main service center in Athens, I mentioned the problem to them and they told me that the warranty of the machine does not apply!

If it is possible to hear such words and behavior in 2021 from such a big company (if it can be called big with such behavior towards its customers), it seemed strange to me because such behavior is unheard of! It's like buying a new car from a European country and when you come to Greece they tell you that its warranty does not apply! In other words, it is UNACCEPTABLE.

By the way, the instruction booklet was not only in Italian but also in Greek!

Well... it makes good coffee in general... you won't be drinking café-level coffee and the reason is that the coffee infusion is very fast so the coffee will never have all the flavors it would normally have.... but at 300 euros you shouldn't expect coffee at the level of a 10,000 euro machine... but... it makes amazing foam... and here, read carefully so you don't have to waste kilos of coffee unnecessarily... use fresh beans of course, but not just arabica... the machine performs well with low acidity coffees, especially arabica blends with robusta... set the grinder to 1.5... and the coffee intensity slightly above maximum... water temperature at 3 out of 4.... good coffees! update 7/1/20... one year of use now... no, the coffee is not good... not even mediocre... I haven't been able to find the ideal blend and the worst grind setting... no matter what I do, the coffee is tasteless and almost flavorless... I've tried every combination of temperature, grind setting, and cup intensity you can imagine!!!! Oh, and over 20-25 different blends... in the end, the machine... was sold, and actually replaced by super-automatic ones... what they produce is a weak coffee with foam that disappears before you finish your cigarette...

After a lot of research, I wanted a machine that would offer quality coffee and be easy to use. A difficult combination, given that in the past I had a separate grinder for coffee beans and a quality espresso machine. The circumstances have changed and now I am looking for a quality coffee in a short time and cleanliness.

I read various websites from Greece and abroad and tried to find the best machine for its price. I ended up with this one and I have not regretted my choice at all. The coffee is very good (depending on each person's preference), the frothed milk is also very good, and the ease of use is exemplary. I did many tests to find the right grind and quantity of coffee, and I think I found the ideal combination. Based on these factors, its cost will be justified.

I must mention that the choice of coffee maker and coffee is purely subjective. Machines of this type (automatic) are very popular abroad. In Greece, they are misunderstood, but things are changing rapidly. Everyone chooses what pleases them. I say this because some people in their reviews, especially regarding this type of machines, are absolute, in other words, know-it-alls...

(10/05/2020) I come back approximately 1.5 years later to say that after hundreds of coffees, the machine is a model of cleanliness and ease of use. It is very important what coffee you choose and how fresh it will be when it goes into the grinder. Personally, I use beans that come in small packages (about 250g) to keep them fresh. I would not recommend using pre-ground coffee, but in case of necessity, it can't be avoided. I have a small objection regarding the grinder setting (I have it at maximum), so that the flow and quantity are at the right timing (about 25 seconds).

I bought it and after 4 days the circuit board burned out and that's when the adventure with Delonghi's service began. You have to take the device to the service center for repair and wait (1 week) with continuous phone calls after they decide to replace it. Then you have to pick it up from the service center and take it back to the store where you bought it, another ridiculous part of the process, just to get a different one. In other words, people are being inconvenienced because that's how they operate.

Their response to my complaints was that this is how we operate. In my phone calls to the headquarters, I repeatedly expressed that the whole process is completely unacceptable, but they just kept repeating the same things.

In simple words, if you have a problem, DON'T LET IT HAPPEN, otherwise you will be consumed by the procedures and back-and-forth.

A €300 product and the customer is left to chance. Don't tell me it happened by chance because that's how it perceives how much the company respects the product and the customer.

I just hope that this problem doesn't happen again, although the initial impression was more than disappointing.

After many years, I acquired an automatic coffee maker again and I was satisfied from the second try. I believe it is worth its money and it is a machine that satisfies all tastes for people who drink only espresso or cappuccino. The characteristic noise does not bother when it grinds and makes coffee, on the contrary, it predisposes you for the result.

I come back after a few months of use, and I see that it satisfies every taste in coffee, but it may not need (depending on the coffee one uses) to adjust the grinder to a finer grind of the coffee, always depending on the coffee.

On the other hand, the only negative [that you get used to with the use of the machine] is that the water tank is small and if it could hold 2 liters, it would be better. But then the machine would have a large volume, as it is, it is convenient in a small space on the kitchen counter because everything is done from the front with great ease, both in filling the water tank and in cleaning it.

As an additional experience, with this machine since 2015, having changed the grinder twice, once under warranty and the other by paying, I have to say the best under certain conditions (since I took it to an independent service).

First, not bottled water, as they have salts and make it difficult for the machine. It is better to have a household filter of your choice for the water.

The coffee should be as low in fat as possible, so you should search a bit. After many kilograms of coffee, I have ended up with 80% Arabica and 20% Robusta, and with tests with many coffee brands.

On the other hand, it does not require adjustment to the grinder for a finer grind, and if you use pre-ground coffee, adjust the coffee setting so that the amount of water that will pass does not go higher than the second line.

The most important thing is that you need to get food-grade grease to lubricate the mechanism that makes the coffee at least once every 15 days if you make few coffees, and every week if you make more than 5 coffees per day.
