The only shoe literally that didn't make my feet hurt after work (hours of standing). I have wide feet and truly (even though it's the only model from all brands that is suitable for wide feet, unfortunately) it is the best thing I have worn.
The shoes after 190 km of running feel like running barefoot. Unacceptable for ASICS. They are not worth it at all and borderline dangerous for running.
We have been using the Asics Kayano model in my family for 15 years because it is an excellent athletic shoe for cases of flat feet and/or the need for arch support, both for running and for everyday use. However, the outer fabric is now very sensitive and easily develops tears or holes without much wear and tear.

Smaller size than expected, better to take half a size larger than what you usually wear
Good shoes, but not as expected. Compared to the NIKE Legend React 2 that I had before, they might be lacking. The cherry on top, after washing them in the sink (first time after 18 months, I used spray to clean them), the black color on the Asics logo and some parts faded and practically turned black and white. I probably made a mistake, but still, it's not good for the colors to fade. Nevertheless, they are good.
update
once they dried well in the sun, they turned black again - it's been a while since I felt so goofy!
I have overpronation and for 2 years now the Kayano shoes have saved me. I run 40km per week and they haven't hit, tired, or hurt me in any way. I wear size 44.5 but I get size 45 for more comfort. Usually, I wait for them to drop to around 90 euros to buy them.
I have several pairs of Asics and I bought these a few months ago, unfortunately they hit the front of my toes when I run, making running unbearable, and then my toes hurt. I'm still crying over my money...
After 3 months of moderate use, one of them started to have a problem with the glue on the sole and with every step, you can hear something like popping bubbles!!!
I have been using Kayano for running for several years. I have never had a problem and they are recommended for people with wide feet.
Last year, I used two pairs of Kayano for my runs. I even used them for marathon training. I chose the least worn pair for the race.
In conclusion, it is an excellent training shoe with a long lifespan and good shock absorption that can be used on both asphalt and dirt (with caution on rocks to avoid twisting the foot due to the soft sole) for distances up to 20 km.
It can also be used for races up to 20 km and speeds up to 5.3 min/km.
They are not suitable for training and races over 20 km and faster paces.
I just bought the Kayano 29.
Happy running!
I bought them through Skrouts in June from a well-known chain in Crete. It was referred to as an official reseller, but to dispel any concerns, I contacted Asics customer support in the UK and they were indeed authentic. I didn't buy them for running, but for long hours of walking, so that I could take long walks since I am overweight and have flat feet. I will agree with the previous speakers that it is a terrible model. The first day I wore them to a conference where I was standing and walking for about 10 hours, they gave me blisters on the inside and sides of my heel. Initially, I thought, okay, it's a new shoe, it needs some time to break in. Without further ado, it's now October 9th with daily use, the left shoe seems to have improved, but the right heel has developed several more blisters and is still forming. I used to have the Nimbus 18 before and was satisfied, which is why I bought these for even better performance, but...
Due to my wide feet, I have trusted them for years. They seem lighter than previous models and I also like the interior that embraces the foot at the ankle. The step feels like a sturdy shoe with a light bounce.
For walking, they are quite good with nice support. (The Nimbus ones may be a little more comfortable/relaxing)
For running, they simply don't work because of this issue where they hit the inside of the right heel!
I have been a fan of Nike shoes for years and have used almost all of their models. After a friend's recommendation and reading that they provide support for wide feet, I decided to give them a try.
No comparison to what I was wearing before. Perfect fit, stability, and tested in exercise and posture.
I will not buy another shoe from any other brand again. Only Asics.
I have been wearing Kayano for many years. Fantastic shoe with good support.
But these specific ones, because they tried to reduce the weight, are less durable than their predecessors.
I wear these shoes daily at work from 9 in the morning until 12 at night, nothing less but also nothing particularly more than the previous models in the series. I have worn other series of Asics shoes that are indeed more comfortable, but they have a shorter lifespan, which is important to me in my case.
Just DON'T get them. I went on a 6-day trip wearing only these shoes and they destroyed the back of my heel, as well as many others as I now see in the comments. Every step felt like stepping on a nail. It's the first time a shoe has hurt me. The size is accurate. I will try changing the insoles, but I didn't spend 100++ to customize them with insoles.
Since I got the Kayano 24, I found the shoes that fit perfectly on my feet. Now I got the Kayano 28 again and after two tries at the gym, I have to say that I am completely satisfied. WARNING, this shoe is specially designed for certain types of feet, it is not for everyone. Also, be careful to try them on before buying them because in two stores I went to, they were defective in the heel of the right foot. Shoe size 41.5.
The Kayano shoes up until the 27 were very nice!! The 28 has a softer cushioning.. It doesn't support the arch well like the older ones. I have run many kilometers with Kayano and never had a problem, the 28 hit me on the right foot - sole area - because the insole probably has an issue... For the money they cost, it's not allowed!!! I am not satisfied at all with the 28!!
Perfect, the only downside was that it was slightly cracked at the bottom on the left leg. It took 10 days to stop hitting my heel from the inside, but now it's fine. I wear them at work for 9-10 hours, standing and walking.
Guys, it easily gets a hole, the shoe can get tangled somewhere and open a hole in the front that looks like a little net.
Flawless application and feeling when stepping. Excellent shoe. The quality of its construction is evident as soon as you wear it. Easily the most comfortable shoe I have worn. Lightweight, no rubbing, no internal seams to bother, the size 45 was indeed a size 45. Perfect.
After researching and reading reviews on foreign websites, I ended up choosing these specific shoes.
I was excited when I received the shoes and immediately threw away the receipt and ripped off the tag. As you can imagine, I can't return them now.
Upon wearing them, I noticed that the left shoe was very good, just as described, but the right shoe felt like it was from a different model. The sole was different and harder, and as a result, after walking (not running) for a while, my right foot started hurting on the second day of wearing them.
I am disappointed with Asics and would not recommend buying their shoes, especially for the price.
I had the Kayano 25 (if I remember correctly) and since I wore them out, literally, I replaced them with these. While they are great for running and training, I also use them for work because they are one of the few that don't tire my feet after 12 hours. Their weight is probably more than normal (size 47), but it suits me very well for some reason. I definitely recommend them for those looking for all-purpose shoes or specifically for running at the price of these.
I can't understand what's happening lately with ASICS. The last shoes I bought (Nimbus 21 and Kayano 28) hurt my Achilles tendon and heel. And the bad thing is that you can't realize it when you try them on, only after 1-2 times of walking or running. Otherwise, they are great shoes, with a very good cushioning. I hope, of course, that they will prove to be much more durable in the toe area than the Nimbus.
For the price I got them, they are perfect. Because I have the Kayano 27, I feel that the 28 is heavier as a shoe. However, it is definitely a very good and sturdy shoe.
Excellent shoe, worth its money. I bought it today from zackret for 131. Sizes are running out, there won't be anything left until black Friday.
Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the shoes. From the first run (7 kilometers), my foot developed a blister on the upper part of the arch on my right foot... I stayed away from the shoes for a week, but even on the next run, the same thing happened... Disappointing. Also, the heel is too low for my feet and it feels a bit uncomfortable. Now I only wear them for walking... It's a shame considering the good reviews for running shoes...
If I knew how much they help my foot with flat feet and overpronation, I would have bought them years ago, even though they have differences from version to version as far as I understand (with older ones). It is probably true that they are warmer than others, without me personally being bothered by anything. They are worth their money, satisfied for the support they provide!
Today I bought again after several years the asics gel 28. Beautiful and elegant shoe, very sturdy and stable, fits tightly on the foot, hugs the heel while being quite comfortable in the front. The size plays a very important role, it's better to try it before buying. I got it in size 48, I think it's 30.5cm, so check first because there may be differences between companies. I got it all black for 165 euros (around 120 would have been a perfect choice). The most important negative thing I found is that it's a bit warm, I don't know if this will affect the runners.
