The engagement of Greek researchers with adolescent literature has so far been sporadic and non-systematic, as it is mostly limited to the study of one or two literary works (within the framework of the author's work for children) that happen to have characteristics that are more suitable for teenagers. This collection of studies, presented at a conference organized by the Department of Pre-School Education and Education Sciences of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in May 2009, attempts to fill this gap. These studies address issues related to the conceptual content of the term "adolescent literature," clarifications of related terms that are considered synonymous or confused with adolescent literature, as well as definitions that highlight the age phase of the readers it is addressed to. Additionally, in this broader thematic direction, other aspects are added, more focused on particular aspects or narrative techniques that are developed and adopted in individual works or by authors who belong to the field of adolescent literature (such as Manos Kontoleon, Litsa Psarauti, Toula Tiga, etc.), in linguistic dialects that are formed within it and constitute its uniqueness as a body of texts.
