The subject is timeless and the problems recurring - but not all, as proven by reading this volume. Today we can be happy, especially women, that some basic things have improved and others have been resolved. We haven't lived them, we've heard them from our mothers and grandmothers. We know, of course, that they still happen today, in darker countries. However, with the chronicle, we are transported to a past that, fortunately, has passed.
