Dimitris Kallimanis has channeled his passion into the knowledge of plants and the utilization of their rich properties. A student and admirer of Dioscorides, he divides his time between the mountains and the places where precious plants grow, and his laboratory where he transforms carefully collected herbs into cosmetics and pharmaceutical preparations. He took lessons with the late Skevos Filianos at the University of Athens, attended seminars on aromatic and therapeutic plants at IGE, alternative pharmaceutical technology for homeopathy, phytotherapy, gemmotherapy, aromatherapy, and cosmetics at Medicum college. He studied journalism and photography. He has published two poetry collections in New York in 1991 and 1992. He continued his studies at SVIE, from where he graduated with honors, attending academic semesters for several years either at private institutions or seminars under the auspices of the Medical and Pharmaceutical School of Athens. He taught Natural Cosmetics at IGE with great success, introducing the extensive use of the laboratory. He collaborates with I.M. Koutloumousiou for the creation and maintenance of a botanical garden and the construction of a laboratory for the reproduction of Mount Athos recipes.

He has made many publications in Greek and foreign scientific journals. What literally shaped him were the rare experience/apprenticeship in the natural environment and his almost living within the laboratory of nature, studying and conducting various experiments in pharmacotechnology and pharmaceutical technology as well as pharmacognosy. All these recorded experiences were collected and formed the basis of the material for his first book "Natural Cosmetics & Treatments from Ancient Greece, Byzantium, and Today". Since then, he continues to conduct seminars, write articles on pharmacognosy, prescriptions for pharmacotechnology, and natural cosmetics. "Recipes". Only recipes like a natural extension, like a trunk that connects two banks. On the first bank, in his first book, plants, recipes, substances, and combinations of them were studied and analyzed. On the other bank, in this book, recipes, many recipes, and their variations will be presented.
