I've had them for almost three years. Unfortunately, the bass stopped working, and the worst part is that there is no representative to get them repaired if possible. Just for that reason, I will not buy them again. They are not worth the money after all
I have had these speakers for 9 years. They cost around 350 euros back then.
Except for the volume control knob that stopped working in the third year, everything else works perfectly and even more.
Don't hesitate.
One night I was drinking alone at my house and I had them on full blast. After a while, they started turning off and then turning back on after 10 seconds. I thought they were broken, so I stopped and thought, what kind of speakers did I buy.... The next day I looked at the history on YouTube and saw that the first song was at 12 o'clock and the last one was at 4.......... 4 hours of full volume.... they held up and they still do...
Regarding the bass, I'm crazy about it and I'll probably need a 12-inch one. But it will satisfy you.
Note: After 50% volume, the club starts and even at full volume, they have a clear sound
4.5/5 I would say, good sound relative to PC speakers. Low is ok, when you approach the maximum volume it messes up a bit...especially the woofer should not go above 70% of its volume as it confuses everything. It has a very powerful sound as a whole, moderate to good build quality (classic Logitech).
*Positive that you have connection options and it easily recognizes 5.1 from both TV and PC by connecting to the appropriate port.
*Personally, I have not had any pieces break or shut down due to overheating in the 4 years I have had it, while I use it frequently and at very high volume it has not let me down.
*EXTREME that when I bought it, it cost 220-250 (depending on the store) and in 2024...4 years later! it goes up to 270 and even 300. When I bought it, it was already considered an old model.
-One negative is that you can't easily find a way to hang the peripheral speakers because they have a special thread that doesn't fit many bases (or maybe I didn't find at normal prices :/)
My father gave them to me as a gift 12 whole years ago because he had closed a big deal and wanted to share his happiness. We went to a chain store, he told me to get whatever I wanted, and I chose these because at that time they were the most expensive ones. As a result, apart from 2 very cheap speakers that I had when I was very young, these are the only computer speakers I have ever had, so I don't have a good point of comparison. I have moved several times, they have fallen, I have kicked them, liquid has spilled on them, and except for the fact that at some point years ago the protective cover came off one of the 4 speakers, they have worked perfectly until now.
Today, after so many years, my speakers died. Suddenly, they just stopped working. I don't know exactly why, but after doing some research, I assume they cannot be repaired. So, this post is a tribute.
As for the sound, personally (without having a point of comparison or knowledge), it always seemed mediocre to good to me, and the volume was excellent.
I wish all good things lasted forever. I would buy them again, but I like to experiment whenever I have the opportunity, so this time I will look for something different.
Many comments wrote that the intensity is great, the system definitely is not 500w as promised. In 2005 I bought a Samsung home cinema that promised 270w. After so many years I decided to replace it since it had a problem. Reading in the comments that the sound is very loud and also that they couldn't turn it up to the max, and because I also read that it is 500w, I said it suits me......!!!! To my great disappointment, the sound intensity is very low, I believe the system is at most 350w.
I will start with the positives.
1. They are very beautiful.
2. Easy to use.
3. They take up little space.
Now for the negatives.
1. The sub easily raises the temperature.
2. The screens came off the speakers on the second day I got them, on their own.
3. I can't turn up the volume because they turn off.
4. Every now and then, they turn off and I have to struggle to turn them back on.
5. The speaker boxes scratch very easily.
I had some extra money and bought them, but they are definitely not the best, for example:
I have the z2300, z5500 x2, and the z906, and the z906 for me are garbage.
The subwoofer plays things that aren't even recorded. One has to lower it a lot to be saved from the ghosts. Never again computer speakers, only Studio Monitors.
They have so many detailed reviews, what else can I say. I simply mention that I have had them for 3 years and they are the best thing I have ever bought, something non-professional and at such a price. (I speak from experience as I have been a DJ for 30 years). They are perfect for listening to music (they have volume and quality) but also for movies. Finally, the main advantage they have is that they turn 2.1 movies into virtual 5.1 and believe me, there is no difference from real 5.1. And if the price seems a bit steep to some, it is not. You will spend the money once and keep them for a long time. Truly incredible speakers. The definition of value for money.
P.S. I have no affiliation with the company, don't think I'm advertising. I'm just amazed by their quality, volume, and price. (I bought them for 280€)
I have had these speakers for 3 years... Flawless for gaming and movies with extreme bass depth and crisp clear sound in the high frequencies. I can't say the same for the music aspect as the MONSTROUS subwoofer and the very "shrill" speakers make the speakers color the sound, and the weakness in the mid frequencies is noticeable. Construction is flawless and sturdy. It will definitely require some work in terms of placement as it has a lot of cable and you will need to consider the space where you will place it before purchasing. For its price, it is perhaps the most solid choice for a 5.1 system.
If you can afford to spend money on this product, do it with your eyes closed. The best Logitech has in 5.1. The whole house shakes at volume 3/4.
I play Red Dead Redemption 2 and World of Tanks. These two games support 5.1 sound, so I can't describe the enjoyment of the sound when all the speakers are used. Don't forget to adjust the windows to give you 5.1 sound.
Update: I discovered that you can change the bass levels and the levels of the speakers separately with the control. In response to a review that the sound was not loud enough.
One can understand the difference when it is not connected to the source with the 3 cables but simply with an aux/HDMI.
Very good upgrade from the two speakers I was using before. Of course, you also need the appropriate content to listen to them at 100%. In 2.0 content, the rear speakers are rarely heard compared to the front ones.
The Logitech Z906 is an exceptional 5.1 speaker system for computers that provides incredible performance and sound quality. With a total power of impressive 500W, these speakers produce rich, impressive sound that allows you to enjoy movies, games and music with accuracy and detail.
The 5.1 composition allows you to fully enjoy the surround sound, with discreet speakers for the front, rear and center channels, as well as a powerful subwoofer for the lows. This creates an immersive sound atmosphere that fully immerses you in the experience of the content you are enjoying.
Overall, the Logitech Z906 is an excellent choice for sound enthusiasts looking for a powerful and stunning sound experience on their computer. Whether it's games, movies or music, the Z906 will impress you with its quality and performance.
Firstly, I should mention that I have them connected to my PC with the 3 jack cables. In movies, there is a proper 5.1 surround sound, and during gunshots, fights, etc. you feel like you're in the action. For music, the 4.1 option is the best for me. The front and rear speakers play the same thing, the space is filled better, and it's more enjoyable.
Regarding the volume, I've momentarily turned them up to 60-65%, but never higher. The maximum I can handle for a few hours is around 45% (these are in a small room, I will add a review for a living room in the future).
Note about the volume: I left them at 50% and played music on Spotify through my phone while being 70 meters away from the house, and I could distinguish the bass. Don't imagine that it was shaking at 70 meters, but it was noticeable, and all this was in the afternoon when there is traffic in the area.
For me, if you combine them with a computer, I think it's a one-way street. I don't know about using them with a TV, but I will try and add my comments.
Very good for the money they cost. 239 €. Good quality sound, I use them for home cinema, easy connection with optical fiber. I hope they will last over time... I have tested them until halfway and they are great, above that the windows will break...
Their sound simply exists. I played them on my 75-inch TV and it just took off. Movies, music, football...whatever I say is not enough. I never put it above the middle though... The bass is amazing, especially in movies. The small ones were looking around trying to figure out where the sound was coming from...just perfect!
I have had them for over 4 years, they have not shown any problems and their performance is excellent.
- They connect through a cable to the mobile control and I think they also connect to other Logitech devices for more intensity.
Information, no matter what I say, there are 1000+ videos about the sound system on YouTube/Google and other sites with reviews from thousands of people, for example on Amazon.
If I put them above the middle (bass, high, etc.), things creak throughout the house.
For the burnt ones: The lows don't hit as hard, they're milder.
Generally, I don't understand on my own how loud they are, because the neighbor comes to the 2nd floor where I am on the ground floor and tells me not to play after 10 pm because it causes an earthquake, shakes the lights, and his kids who go to elementary school can't sleep and cry.
I've been using them for a few days now and I'm starting to regret getting the 5.1 version. They don't have HDMI, but I knew that beforehand... NO HDMI NO TRUE 5.1 for movies. If you search for different HDMI and digital optical options for sound, you'll understand. Specifically, I've connected them with an optical cable to my TV... when I set the digital audio output to automatic instead of PCM, then the 5.1 option appears next to the titles on Netflix. On the speaker control unit, the DECODE indicator lights up and the speakers only play in 2.1. However, if I switch the TV audio output to PCM, then I can only set the speakers to 3D mode, which is fake 5.1. You lose the 5.1 option from Netflix titles. For music, they're loud enough, but the TV also plays a role in that. They also don't have Bluetooth. I've bought an extra receiver and downloaded BOOM on my MacBook, which significantly increases the volume and has many sound options. But obviously, with Bluetooth, you lose quality again because it also doesn't support 5.1 sound. The source also plays an important role. For example, paid Spotify in maximum quality. On YouTube, you might be disappointed because it also doesn't play 5.1. I haven't tried them on a computer with a 6 channel direct input cable, but from what I understand, only HDMI gives you real 5.1 sound. The package only includes that and what connects the speakers. It's obvious that they're made for computers. Another big problem they have, although I haven't worked them to the max, is that the woofer rattles. It doesn't have a heat sink at the back to dissipate the heat. Maybe that's why they burn out or even shut down if they play at full volume for protection. Nevertheless, for their price, they're very good.
**update: I connected them to my Xbox and they work perfectly. The reason? It has the Dolby digital option on the optic output. They play in real 5.1 decode and the sound is noticeably better. Conclusion, you don't get much from a TV.
I'm finally back after a while to share my impressions, which are completely positive, about a PC Surround system. It does its job perfectly and I also have B&W Surround sound. The Logitech speakers have left me speechless, I have two sets, one like a cinema sound in an Airbnb apartment that takes sound through optical fiber from the TV for guests who have Netflix, Disney+, and they have given me very positive comments such as satisfying bass and great sound effects in horror or science fiction movies. No guest has criticized them, in fact, they said it's a good solution for someone who wants value for money with very good sound, and of course, they use them personally after their vacations!!! I have them in my gaming setup, where I mainly take sound through optical fiber since I don't have HDMI 2.1 support to support Dolby Atmos sound, even though the speakers are THX certified, which is the original company where Dolby Atmos started!!! Of course, I'm not bothered by the other sound formats that optical fiber supports since I have DTS-EX, DTS, Dolby True HD, DTS HD, and finally, simple Dolby Digital!! It would be nice to have Atmos, but since I have covered 85% of the sound that exists, I won't be upset about the remaining 15% that I won't be able to enjoy... If there were 1000 stars in the rating, I would give them all because I'm very satisfied.
Speakers that have already been around for a decade and we're moving on to the next one. Truly the best in their category and I'm glad Logitech still produces them. I've watched movies, played games, and even thrown parties at home with these speakers. Exceptional!
These speakers are worth their money, with very powerful and clear sound. They are amazing for movies with the 3D sound. The bass is HUGE, I have it in the middle and it shakes the house.
I have had the speakers for 2.5 years. Amazing speakers!!! Incredibly powerful sound!!! Very good construction, sound, connectivity, subwoofer, although it may be too loud for some, I like it and overall it is a complete surround sound system for a fairly large living room!!!
