Tennessee Williams' one-act plays are the subject of study in theater schools, where they are presented as a study in condensed theatrical language. Like Pirandello, Miller, and others, Williams creates characters and through them conveys their messages indirectly. Specifically, Williams lends himself to study and analysis, as in his one-act plays the heroes start from a starting point of the past, knowing that their journey has no end, or if it does, that end is a dead end. Most of his heroes try to find an edge - any edge - but they do not succeed, because they are pursued by the anxiety of loneliness that has intensified within them, so they are drawn into a verbal entangled chase of a chimera, thus struggling to control the impulse of their thoughts.
