Tennessee Williams' one-act plays are the subject of study in theater schools, where they are presented as a study in condensed theatrical language. Specifically, Williams lends himself to study and analysis, as in his one-act plays the heroes start from a starting point of the past, knowing that their journey has no end, or if it does, that end is a dead end. Most of his heroes try to find an edge - any edge - but they do not succeed, because they are pursued by the anxiety of loneliness that has intensified within them, so they are drawn into a verbal entangled chase of a chimera, thus struggling to control the impulse of their thoughts.
