The systematic approach of Criminal Procedural Law and the highlighting of its crucial function within a legitimate legal order constitute the main objective of this writing effort. The increased scientific interest in the field of Criminal Procedural Law, due to the new code of criminal procedure, requires today, more than ever, the study of the foundations of procedural phenomena and the evolution of its principles and institutions in the modern legal environment. 

The implementation of the new institutions of procedural law requires their analysis and understanding, in order to internalize the change of paradigm promoted by them. Similar understanding is required for the crucial interventions in pre-trial proceedings and evidentiary procedures, where the strengthening of the powers of the prosecutor and the rights of the parties shape a new procedural landscape and a new trial profile. In the same direction, various adaptations of procedural provisions of the other stages of criminal proceedings are moving, based on the guidelines and directions of European jurisprudence.
