It was reasonable for this to happen, as Pontus, due to its geographical position and its rich resources, has been a crossroads of nations.

Nevertheless, the Pontic Dialect has maintained its connection with the ancient Greek language, its legitimate offspring, as clearly evidenced by the inclusion of relevant words.
