I have bought this specific cream for the third time, I use it for my mild but persistent and chronic seborrheic dermatitis that I occasionally have (when stressed or if I don't wash for a day). I have tried several brands (ducray DS, Bioderma DS, Uriage DS) and they did something, but nothing compares to La Roche. Specifically, it has a very nice scent, it doesn't leave any residue when it dries, and it absorbs within about 10-15 minutes. Now, in terms of effectiveness, it does the job. I use it for 3-4 days and the redness goes away, whereas with the previous ones, it would take a week. I'm not even mentioning the moisturizers that do absolutely nothing if the dermatitis starts to flare up. Lastly, I will mention that you feel a slight or intense burning sensation (depending on how severe your dermatitis is) after applying it, but it's normal. Also, it has a small issue with the tube, when you start and finish, you have to cut it because it's quite hard near the cap and some cream remains on the sides. I always cut it at the end, there's enough quantity left for 2-3 more treatments. In conclusion, I have settled on this cream and I'm not looking for another one. The issue is whether it suits everyone's skin because it may work for me but not for someone else. Regardless, give it a try and draw your own conclusions.
In the areas of my face after applying it, I notice intense redness. I don't know if it's the effect of this product or if it's causing some sort of allergy.
I was saved! I had seborrheic dermatitis on my face with redness and flakes. They completely disappeared within 3 days. Better than cortisone! Of course, you have to apply it every day for maintenance. I wish I had discovered it earlier.
This specific ointment was recommended to me by a dermatologist because I had a flare-up of seborrheic dermatitis... My skin was irritated and as soon as I applied the ointment, it caused redness as if I had been sunburned. My doctor told me to only use it in the morning and to apply sunscreen on top. So, I used it again on the second day (always on clean skin) this time with sunscreen, and the same thing happened. It's a shame because besides the redness, it seems to leave my skin smooth, but oh well, let's not dwell on it...
Update 14/12/23: I didn't end up stopping it as per the Dermatologist's recommendation. She told me that the redness is a result of the existing problem and that the cream actually works. After 3 days, my skin did get used to it and it no longer gets red, but it does help a lot in maintaining the face.
Update 02/01/24: The ointment ran out and unfortunately, no results... There was a temporary improvement but the flare-up continued even with the use of the ointment...
I have been buying it for many years. I wouldn't change it for anything. It is the best cream I have ever used. It does what it promises. I have combination skin. It absorbs very quickly, doesn't cause greasiness, dryness, or redness. I have seborrheic dermatitis and a very difficult face. When I take a bath, I wash my face with Ducray kelual gel moussant, then I apply Kerium ds cream, and before going to bed, I apply this Vichy Homme hydra mag cream. My face is perfectly clean when I wake up.
It didn't help with skin redness. Maybe it's not suitable for my skin type. I will choose something else next time
It provides good maintenance for seborrheic dermatitis on the skin to prevent flare-ups, in combination with washing the face with a suitable gel. It is not suitable for use during a flare-up. In those cases, only the treatment prescribed by a dermatologist, usually something corticosteroid-based, will be effective.
I can say that it doesn't do anything of what it promises, at least on my skin type. Instead of reducing the redness-irritation that I have, I can say that it makes it much worse, along with itching and increasing the extent of the problem. I once had one that a doctor from the public health system gave me, which was effective... in 1 to 2 days at most the problem disappeared, we lost the doctor and we lost the ointment as well...
It is the worst thing I have put on my face in recent years, I almost want to smear it on the face of the sour lady who sold it to me as a specialized product against seborrheic dermatitis.

It didn't help me. On the contrary, when I applied it and it dried, my skin started peeling even worse.
It is the best cream I have tried for seborrheic dermatitis on the eyebrows. I have been using it for years, and I prefer it again and again.
So-so for its price. I would recommend it maybe for very dehydrated skin. For my combination to neutral skin, it left me oily and I got a couple of pimples. Its moisturizing effect is undeniable. I now only use it when I have exfoliated or if my skin feels tight.
Unfortunately, it didn't help me either.. On the contrary, I felt like it was making my redness and blemishes worse.
It does nothing!!! When I apply it initially, it leaves a cooling effect which at first soothes a little, but then it does nothing! Dryness and redness do not even diminish. On the contrary, when I used another cream for dry skin from Mustela, the emollient balm magically calmed my skin.
For many years, I used Avene's Cicalfate until it stopped calming my skin (there are always periods of flare-ups where even a good cream may not help). After many hesitations, I bought this cream from La Roche Posay and... I was saved... my skin balanced out... it calmed down... no irritation or peeling. Use after a thorough cleansing... a small amount is enough, with special care in sensitive areas of the face. At first, there is a somewhat intense burning sensation, but it passes in a few minutes. Smooth and refreshed skin for many hours.
Well, I am changing my review because I think I made a mistake... What is it? I started applying the cream on my pimples and that is WRONG. Because they swell even more!.. I stopped applying it until the pimples went away and then I started using it once or twice a week. For almost 3 weeks now, I have NOT had any irritation or redness again.. SO, WE DO NOT APPLY IT WHEN THE SKIN IS SWOLLEN. We apply it as soon as our skin calms down and it works great.
I have bought it 3 times, it always does the job, I have an issue with the face, neckline, and high back, within a few days of morning and evening use, it does the job. However, be careful when it finishes, there is a lot of product left on the walls, and you have to cut the packaging (see photo)

Instead of reducing redness, it increased it by three (3) times (!) and the swelling reappeared after weeks of absence.
It does not do what it promises and my condition worsened. It was immediately thrown in the trash. Money for nothing.
Prefer Bioderma H.A.R. or if your wallet can handle it, SkinSoutikals (you get what you pay for). Both are recommended by dermatologists. The second one is far superior. You don't need to use Protopic (those who have used it know. You don't use it indefinitely).

I have been dealing with dermatitis for almost 20 years in various parts of my body. It is particularly bothersome on my face, around the nose, and under the eyes. For years, I used cortisone creams, but only during flare-ups for a day or two.
Especially after bathing with hot water, the redness is very intense and slightly swollen. And when I dry off, these white flakes stick to it, like scales, and the sight is not the best. That's when the itching starts, and if you scratch it... well, it gets even worse.

Amazing cream! It eliminated dermatitis in 4-5 applications and made my face glow! Even as a moisturizer, it is much superior to other ones with triple the price. I have already ordered a second one and will continue to buy it.
I have never seen such immediate results with a cream before. It helped with my rosacea flare-ups and within a few days, it cleared up my "blemishes" and dryness. I suddenly faced a problem with seborrheic dermatitis and randomly chose the cream based on comments. Within 4-5 days, my face was fully moisturized. I applied it once at night after washing my skin with a cleansing gel. My face peels intensely in certain areas and it was impossible to apply makeup without looking like a cake. It does a good job, but it requires a smaller amount. I use half a pea-sized amount, it absorbs immediately as long as you don't apply too much. It has a distinct smell that almost reminds me of watermelon (almost). I got used to it, but it may feel heavy to some people.

Hello. After products that my dermatologist had recommended to me, which were temporary, I decided to try this specific cream. In the beginning, for 5 consecutive nights before sleep, and now 2 times a week for maintenance. Every morning, I use a moisturizer. The result is excellent. Clear face without redness, without cracks, without irritation. I recommend it. Keep in mind that not all faces are the same. It's worth trying it anyway.
