Owner of Xiaomi Smart Standing Fan 2 - very satisfied - I was looking for a quiet fan for long hours of use with low power consumption because I couldn't afford to spend so much money again.
I bought 2 units of the 250R for 80€ (40€/unit) and literally when I took them out of the box and set them up, I thought they would need an immediate return as DOA because they were defective.
As soon as I connected them, they started charging, making a beep sound. I pressed the power button to start them, but there was no response.
I read in the instructions that they don't work while charging. I thought it was a waste, I didn't want it like that, and I wondered why no one had mentioned it in the reviews. I thought I would return it. Anyway, let me wait and see if it charges and what happens. It was on for 10 hours during the day and all night. I woke up in the morning and miraculously they had charged, and the beep sound had stopped. I pressed the button to start them, and they started working normally, even though they were still connected to their charger! Now try to figure that out!
The first thing that bothered me, apart from the fact that it doesn't start or turn off from the remote control, is that the remote control indeed doesn't work from half a meter away, as I had read in the comments. So, it is indeed unacceptable, as if it doesn't exist.
The second thing is that even though it has a designed fan, it is NOT COMPLETELY quiet like the Xiamomi, even at the lowest setting. Consider that I am very picky about this and I am referring to nighttime use in a bedroom where you want ABSOLUTE silence. Apart from that, for normal use, the noise is indeed minimal (I emphasize that the XIAOMI is indeed QUIET).
It surprised me that before making the purchase, I was searching for information and reviews to find out if the supposed 15-watt motor it has is DC, and I couldn't find anything. When they arrived and I opened them, I saw that they have a sticker from a Greek company, so that's probably why they are not widely available and there is no information.
It's a shame because as a product, it has competitive features, but in practice, it falls short in everything.
Fortunately, I haven't had any issues with the noise of the fan, as I saw in other comments, but even if it occurs, I am willing to remove the cover. I prefer it to be as quiet as possible in relation to safety.
Also, I should mention that it has a unique rotating mechanism where it rotates completely from the base. I had never seen anything like that before.
Obviously, the concept emphasizes portability and autonomous operation with batteries.
Unfortunately, I don't have the ability to measure and verify its low power consumption, which I am very interested in.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend it blindly. Read the advantages and disadvantages carefully and decide if it suits you.
