Winter, 1949.

In an island of the Ionian Sea. A father is missing. A mother's heart breaks knowing that the only way to protect her children is to separate from them. A home is destroyed, scattered. Thus, Fotini ends up in the monastery of Panagia ton Vrachon and little Gerasimos in the Children's Village of Ioannina. Two children who must escape from the present in order to claim their share in the future. A few years later, Fotini manages to escape from all those who betrayed her. For a moment she stands still. She looks towards the village. "My brother! I must find my brother!" she thinks desperately and runs towards the port. But fate leads her to the courtyard of the Catholic monastery, in the arms of Serena Tzervi.
